Seps was truly the best addition to our wedding. He played as guests were being seated, as we exited the ceremony as bride & groom, cocktail hour, dinner, and then absolutely crushed it interacting with guests on the dance floor. He worked with our DJ behind the scenes to make sure they had their ends ironed out to be able to be cohesive, and you would have thought the two of them came as a pair they were so on it together. A Night You'll Never Forget...
Hi, I'm Seps. I'm a full-time saxophonist that specializes in performing jazz-infused pop covers for weddings and private events. Performing all over Southern California, I make it my mission to turn your special day into an experience of a lifetime. But there are lots of wedding musicians out there... what's different about me? I would answer that with three words: Passion, Expression, and Spontaneity.
Passion
I've been playing the saxophone for 15 years, and have been performing in front of people for just as long. Performance has become so ingrained in my life that I don't seek it out, it just happens. Playing to an audience is as essential to my day-to-day as eating and sleeping. To say that I have a passion for my work would be an understatement. I already knew music would be the center of my life at the age of 14, to the extent that I began scheming ways I could reliably make an income with it. Everything you see here is a result of that. What I'm getting at is that I feel music deep in my soul, and that it is the highest calling imaginable to me. If you trust me with your special day, I will do everything in my power to deliver the most impactful and emotion-filled sounds you've ever heard.
Expression
To expand on the emotion-filled nature of my work, I understand that at its core, music is an extremely intricate and expressive form of communication. It allows us to share feelings that cannot be expressed with words. When I play the bridal entrance music during the ceremony, I picture a bride of my own walking down the aisle towards me, and I let that explosive cocktail of emotions well up in my chest, as I play to the couple and their guests just how I would play to her. I aim to serve as an amplifier of emotion. I transcribe all the feelings and personalities of the people involved, and send it right back to them through sound... effectively creating a feedback loop that keeps growing throughout the day. This can often lead to tears during the ceremony, but gradually transitions into laughter during cocktail hour and dinner, and absolute euphoria by the time open dancing starts.
Spontaneity
One facet of my craft that I take the greatest pride in, and that is most essential to making every wedding unique and special, is improvisation. This is the special sauce that allows me to take the popular songs that you and your guests know and love, and transform them into elegant arrangements that perfectly suit the unique personality of your special event. Starting with subtle fills and trills to elevate the ceremony music and custom tailor it to my observations in real time, and finishing out the night with ripping sax solos in the middle of the dance floor, I never play a song the same way twice. Unlike the cookie-cutter performances you'll get from most other musicians, the music throughout your entire event will be uniquely yours, and has never been heard by anyone else before. Of course the familiar melodies remain, but they are woven together into a tapestry of spontaneous improvised notes.
