A Night You'll Never Forget...

Hi, I'm Seps. I'm a full-time saxophonist and DJ that specializes in creating unforgettable moments at weddings and private events. Performing all over Southern California, I make it my mission to turn your special day into an experience of a lifetime. But there are lots of DJs and musicians out there... what's different about me? I would answer that with three words: Passion, Expression, and Spontaneity.

Passion

I've been playing the saxophone for 17 years, and have been performing in front of people for just as long. It's as essential to me as breathing. Nothing brings me more excitement than the moment I play that first note as guests trickle in, when that first group starts to feel the music and engage with my performance, or when I step out on the dancefloor for that first surprise sax appearance. Performing brings me this immense joy unlike anything else, and there's nothing better than sharing it with others. Because I have so much love for it, I obsess over creating the perfect experience. Sometimes this manifests in the extra expense and care I take in providing equipment that flawlessly covers your space. Other times, it's in creating my own custom edits of your ceremony songs to ensure they fit to your special moment like a movie soundtrack. Many performers will not go to these lengths, but me—I simply can't resist. What I'm getting at is that I feel music deep in my soul, and that it is the highest calling imaginable to me. If you trust me with your special day, I will do everything in my power to deliver the most impactful and emotion-filled sounds you've ever heard.

Expression

To expand on the emotion-filled nature of my work, I understand that at its core, music is an extremely intricate and expressive form of communication. It allows us to share feelings that cannot be expressed with words. When I play the bridal entrance music during the ceremony, I don't just play the notes of the song. Through my tone, vibrato, and dynamics, I play the feelings of the bride and groom, the excitement of the guests, and the love that fills the room. I play the joy, the anticipation, and the overwhelming happiness that comes with such a momentous occasion. As we transition into cocktail hour and dinner, the tone shifts. I begin introducing energy to the experience. I start on the softer side, but as drinks flow and guests get more comfortable, I begin building up the intensity—embelishing the familiar melodies of your favorite songs with improvised riffs and fills. This inspires excitement in your guests, and often gets them cheering and singing along, sometimes even dancing long before the dance floor opens. The final crescendo of the night is the dance floor. This is where I get to express the most energy, and where I get to see the most joy. I DJ the songs that you and your guests know and love, seamlessly mixing each song into the next, and sprinkling invigorating sax performances throughout. Here, it goes beyond my saxophone playing. I've carefully crafted a highly immersive lighting and visual experience that perfectly syncs to the music, bridging the senses and enveloping you and your guests in a euphoric state of pure bliss. The music and lights are one, and likewise your guests will feel united with each other and the experience. This is like nothing you've ever seen before, and your guests will remember it forever.

Spontaneity

The facet of my craft that I take the greatest pride in, and that is most essential to making every wedding unique and special, is improvisation. This is the special sauce that allows me to take the popular songs that you and your guests know and love, and transform them into elegant arrangements that perfectly suit the unique personality of your special event. Starting with subtle fills and trills to elevate the ceremony music and custom tailor it to my observations in real time, and finishing out the night with ripping sax solos in the middle of the dance floor, I never play a song the same way twice. Unlike the cookie-cutter performances you'll get from most other musicians, the music throughout your entire event will be uniquely yours, and has never been heard by anyone else before. Of course the familiar melodies remain, but they are woven together into a tapestry of spontaneous improvised notes. This philosophy also guides how I mix during dancing. Breaking the stereotype of a DJ "just pressing play," I treat DJing as the art form that it is, using each transition as a creative opportunity to bring even more thrill and novelty to the experience. Fusing the songs that are most important to you with the songs I sense the crowd is craving, I will never play the same set twice. Every crowd is different, and I'm always adjusting my performance to their energy in real time.
